Windows SteadyState - Shared Computer Toolkit grows up

Microsoft has been enhancing their tools for computers that are in shared environments - but for software packagers that are restricted from using Virtual Machine technology, this kit has another great use ...

Windows SteadyState has a host of sophisticated and growing features to help managed computers that are shared in labs, kiosks, etc.  One interesting feature of Windows SteadyState is the ability to reset the disks of a regular computer - similar to how it can be done in virtual machines.  If you install SteadyState you can set a disk checkpoint and revert back to a clean machine much quicker than reimaging a system.  If you are doing this for repackaing you can save yourself even more time by logging in your test user ids (to do the cached profile creation) and doing your before snapshot - so you can simply reset the machine and start up your setup program.
